Terms
Written to be read. Where a term decides something about your money, it says so plainly rather than being buried in a clause you were meant to skip.
1. Who may hold an account
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account per person, per household payment method.
- The account is yours alone. You may not let anybody else use it, and you are responsible for anything done on it.
- You must not hold an account if gambling is unlawful where you are, or if you have excluded yourself with us and that exclusion is still running.
We may ask you to prove your age or identity at any point, and may hold a withdrawal until you have.
2. Your money
Your balance is money we hold for you. It is not a deposit account, it earns nothing, and we do not lend against it.
Deposits and withdrawals are checked by a person and agreed by a second person before anything moves. We may refuse or reverse either where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, a mistake, money laundering, or a breach of these terms — and if we do, we will tell you which.
Money riding on open bets cannot be withdrawn until those bets settle.
3. Bets
A bet is made when we accept it and it appears in your portfolio — not when you press the button. If we do not accept it, no bet exists, whatever the screen showed in between.
The price that applies is the one confirmed at the moment of acceptance. How prices, fees, cash out and settlement work is set out in Your account How it works, which forms part of these terms.
We may refuse or limit a bet without giving a reason, including where:
- it would take you past a limit on your account or on the market;
- the book has reached what it will carry in total;
- the market is suspended, or its source has gone quiet;
- we believe the bet is being placed on information not yet public.
4. Voids and mistakes
A voided market returns every stake in full, including the fee. We void where a result cannot be read against the market as written, rather than settling on our own interpretation.
Where a price was obviously wrong — a broken feed, a misplaced decimal — we may void bets taken at it and return the stakes. This applies to an error, not to a result: a market that simply went against us at a correct price stands, and is paid.
If we credit your account in error, we may take the amount back. We will tell you before we do.
5. Fair play
These will get an account closed and bets voided:
- more than one account, or accounts operated together to get round a limit;
- betting on a market whose outcome you already know, or can influence;
- automated betting, scraping, or anything that loads the site beyond ordinary use;
- giving false information about who you are.
Where we close an account for one of these, we return the balance less any winnings from the bets in question. We do not keep money that was yours before the breach.
6. Closing an account
You may close your account at any time by asking support, or shut it yourself on the responsible gambling page. Open bets settle as normal and the balance is returned to you.
A self-exclusion cannot be lifted early by anybody — us included, and not at your own request. Our back office refuses it.
We may close an account by telling you, and will return the balance unless section 5 applies.
7. Availability
The site will sometimes be down, for maintenance or otherwise. We do not promise it will be available at any particular moment, and we are not liable for a bet you could not place. A bet already accepted is honoured whatever happens to the site afterwards.
8. Your data
We hold what we need to run your account and no more:
- your username, phone number, and a one-way hash of your password — we cannot read your password, and can only replace it;
- your balance, bets, and every movement of money on the account;
- the address you signed up from, to stop one person opening many accounts.
We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anybody except where the law requires. Records of money and bets are kept for as long as the law requires after an account closes, even if you ask us to delete them — that obligation sits above your request and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
To see what we hold on you, or to correct it, ask support.
9. Complaints
Tell support what happened and what you would like done. We will answer. Where a bet is in dispute, our records of it — the price at acceptance, the time, and the source the market settled against — are what we go on, and we will show them to you.
10. Changes
These terms and the figures in How it works can change. Bets already placed keep the terms they were placed under. Material changes will be posted on the site before they take effect.
These terms are between you and the operator of ddpredict.com. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
